NEXT Community Cook’IN is Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 6pm
BATCH COOKING IS THE PREPARATION OF A RECIPE IN A LARGE QUANTITY. OUR BATCH COOKING GROUP PROVIDES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR CONNECTING WITH YOUR COMMUNITY, EATING HEALTHY & GIVING TO A GREAT CAUSE.
For three hours, we chop and season, mix and cook, the air in our kitchen filled with the blended aromas of our various foods and our contented chatter. Music playing in the background, tea is being sipped and refilled.
Approx 1 1/2 hrs in to our evening, we sit down to eat one of the dishes we’ve prepared, while other recipes are simmering or baking. We finish up by each taking samples of the food prepared in containers brought from home.
A portion of the food is dropped off at the Barbara Weider House which is managed by Home Horizon, https://www.barbaraweiderhouse.ca, http://www.homehorizon.ca. Also, a portion of the proceeds to attend will be used to offer this program to locals in need.
Cost is $30 – Maximum 10 participants. Offered 1 Wednesday per month. Sign up and join others in your community OR get a group of 6 or more friends together and choose a date that works for you.
When we cook in the company of others, cooking becomes less of a chore and more of a joyous event.
